HOUSTON SPACE CENTER!!!

The Friday morning, after Christmas we loaded everyone up in the minivan and headed to Houston. Alexa and Andrew happily playing with their new DS's- Nintendogz and Starwars Legos respectively. It was quite a quiet ride!

We stayed just miles from the Johnson Space Center... in a hotel with a pool... of course being Houston it was outside and not heated... Soooo we all brought our suits in vain. But we never travel with out swimming suits- just in case!!!
We unloaded our stuff, got some dinner and took the kids to Alvin and the Chipmunks. Emmett was dancing in the aisle by the end of it- which I guess is his seal of approval! Afterwards, we headed back to the hotel for a round of UGLY SHIELD. Another must for hotel visits in the Tenney family. The next morning we hopped up nice and early to go to the museum. We learned the hard way- if you go on a holiday weekend- it WILL be crowded and most 3 year olds don't last long in crowded museums.

ONE reason we chose to go this particular weekend, it was the last of the STARWARS exhibit that was advertised on the museum website.

This was pretty much it!

A light saber, Storm Trooper costume, Sith costume and a ship with R2D2. R2D2 did make cute little noises- which Emmett loved, and interpretted for us, but, that was it! Hmmmmm...

(That's R2D2)

But the very coolest part was the tour we took of
The Johnson Space Center and the REAL MISSION CONTROL! That was by far the neatest part, in fact we went back the next day to see more of the actual space center- including the shuttle simulator and International Space Center simulator.
Oh- and we saw the rocket that was built for the last Apollo mission that didn't end up happening.
Andrew has decided he is going to work for NASA some day! Go for it my little rocket boy!!!

"I've had enough!"

The rocket that would have been used for Apollo 17!
SPACE and LEGOS!?!
A little piece of Heaven on Earth!

Inside the Space Museum, they also had a circus exhibit- Alexa tried the flying trapeze- you should have seen that girl flip

The shuttle is huge- it was awesome to see the simulator and all the other stuff that goes with it!

Another part of the Circus exhibit- Who Dung it??? See the feces, guess the species... ewwww!

MISSION CONTROL HOUSTON! We saw: Live feed from the ISS and sunset from the ISS! WOW!!! What a great trip!
