Christmas Eve, we headed out to Chris and Trey's house in Rockwall, the flurries had already started in Melissa. We had a lovely time visiting over a brisket feast and way too many desserts. Olivia was terrified by their 4 ft Santa who sings whenever anyone walks past. Still not a fan of the man in the red suit. She was a fan of her cousin Ashley who was so sweet to let Liv lead her around the house and protect her from Milo the dog. (A not so ferocious Maltese fluff ball.) The snow was starting to fall more and it was getting colder and colder so we headed home. (This is Texas, so snow is a BIG deal.) We drove home at a pace of 30 mph through sideways snow (like I said- it's a big deal in Texas) we counted 6 cars slid off the road in the last 8 miles to our house. By the time we got home 2 kids were already asleep and 2 were ready to go to sleep, so the elves got to work quickly.
What a wonderful scene to wake up to Christmas Morning- a white blanket of snow covering the ground, a nice fire in the fireplace! What a perfect first Christmas in our new home!
